It was with some dismay that our Ranger team discovered a wanton act of vandalism on the Camel Trail before Christmas.

The Silver Salmon sculpture that’s been a feature of Poley’s Bridge Car Park for many years had been raised to the ground. The Salmon arrived in the Car Park as a result of a project carried out by St Tudy School some years ago.

The project entitled ‘On the Shoulders of Giants’ gave local children the chance to work with sculptors on a ‘giant’ themed sculpture. The Salmon became a much loved addition to the Camel Trail and many people have voiced their disgust at its destruction. The Camel Trail Partnership is currently looking into how we might replace the sculpture.
